Against My Better Judgement

Since I passed my FMF board, I have felt amazingly strong (not to mention smart), so I decided to face another one of my fears during my last few months with my beloved Marines.

So, I have decided to conquer my fear of fighting martial arts (specifically Jiu Jitsu) in tournaments. In the past I've entered several tournaments (most recently on the ship during deployment), and haven't done so well. In fact, I freeze and end up doing nothing. So, I've decided to conquer this fear on Saturday May 9, in the Grapple Quest Fight in Las Vegas, Nevada. The best part is I'll be fighting with my Marines on the USMC Mixed Martial Arts Team.

Every mother's dream for her daughter is to have grandchildren...I can imagine my mom's reaction when I tell her, "Wish me luck for my Vegas fight night."

I'm sure these are words every mother wants to hear from her daughter ;-)

I train almost every day with the MMA team, and now that I know I'm fighting I'm uping my training by including two private lessons from an amazing (and really really HOT) professional MMA fighter, he's got something like 22 wins and 4 losses. So, hopefully these lessons will help quell my fight night fears....

Here's the website if you want to read about what I'm getting ready to do:

Wish me luck as i conquer more fears....errrrrrrr!
